New England Patriots football coach Bill Belichick said he would not accept President Donald Trump’s Medal of Freedom as planned this week following the January 6 “tragic” Capitol riots.

Over the weekend, reports that Trump plans to honor Belichick at Thursday’s ceremony have prompted calls for the 68-year-old coach to abandon her, while Trump faces a possible second impeachment for allegedly inciting his supporters to attack the Capitol..
