Secretary of State Kerry will visit Europe and the Middle East

Overseas tour will start on Sunday and end on March 6

WASHINGTON – 
John Kerry travels to Europe and the Middle East. This is his first trip abroad as Secretary of State. Kerry will discuss the situation in Syria and other regional problems.

According to the State Department, Kerry will visit nine countries: the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Overseas tour will start on Sunday and end on March 6.

The situation in Mali will also be discussed in Paris, in Rome, Kerry will take part in multilateral meetings on Syria and will meet with the leaders of the Syrian United Opposition.

In Cairo, Kerry will meet with politicians representatives of the business community and civil society, as well as with the Secretary General of the League of Arab States Nabil al-Arabi.

Kerry officially took over as chief of the US Foreign Office this month, succeeding Hillary Clinton, who has led the State Department for the past four years..
