Twitter blocks China’s US embassy account
The block was triggered by a tweet stating that Uyghur women in Xinjiang were not &# 171; baby making machines&# 187;
Twitter blocked account of the Chinese Embassy in the US over a tweet defending China’s Xinjiang policy.
According to the American social network, the tweet violated its policy of “dehumanization”.
The Chinese Embassy posted a message to its @ChineseEmbinUS account earlier this month stating that Uyghur women are no longer “child-making machines.”.
The tweet included a link to a study published by the state-backed China Daily newspaper.
“We prohibit the dehumanization of a group of people based on their religion, caste, age, disability, serious illness, national origin, race or ethnicity,” a company spokesman said..
The Chinese Embassy in Washington has not yet commented. Twitter blocked in China.
The blocking of the embassy account occurred shortly after Twitter deleted the account of former US President Donald Trump.
